ECs Appointed

This week the ARRL has appointed WN8UNO - Nate in Cochran as the EC for Bleckley county. N4TUA - Collin is the EC for Pulaski County. In collaboration, the two ECs have started an Amateur Radio Emergency Service VHF net on Monday at 7:00 PM local time. This net will provide training and further amateur radio in our community.

Making It Happen

Mike and Dan made an incredible effort, along with a supportive team, to make it happen. The Central Georgia Amateur Radio Club sponsored this repeater.  Dan donated the Heavy Duty batteries for back-up power. This is the only repeater in Bleckley Co with this backup system.

Got A Question

Do you have a question, about what we do, that would better fit the written word. Ask it here, and respond here. We will publish the questions: and we will publish the responses.

Linking 6.85 and 5.11 Repeaters

Here’s the latest: The link will be located at the 6.85 site.  It will consist of a 2-meter radio tied to our CAT-1000 repeater controller.  The controller has the ability to tie the audio from the 6.85 receiver to the link radio transmitter, which is tuned to the input frequency of the 5.11 repeater. click here for more

FUTURE PROJECTS

Mike, WM4B and Dan, KF8DB are very close to finishing the linking for the 145.110 in Cochran with the 146.850 in Warner Robins.

ARES net will do practice net with volunteers in the Fire Dept.; Police Dept.; Sheriff Dept.; Hospital and 911 to have real life like training.

An all day Saturday class is on the works to have some volunteers from all the city and county departments to learn, and test for the Technician Amateur Radio License this coming Fall.
